I had first picked up a camera at the age of seventeen, and photography immediately opened up my world. From the beginning, it was a way to show others what I cared about and a wonderful pretext for me to enter new worlds.
I cherish the memories triggered by photographs (aka Kodak moments).
Andy Warhol was born in Pittsburgh, my hometown, in 1928. He was educated at the Carnegie Institute of Technology (Carnegie Mellon University) in Pittsburgh.
You can see some other reasons people make photographs here.
As 2021 draws to a close I want to wish my readers a happy new year and share my final photographs of the year. I made them on the Mall in Washington, DC. It was a cloudy day. Even so, Washington was beautiful.
The Washington Monument reflected in the reflecting pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial always sends a shiver down my spine.
The Jefferson Memorial is my favorite of Washington’s grand memorials. It is elegant and recently renovated.
I wish everyone a safe, healthy and prosperous new year.
Happy New Year!
The last day of 2021 began with a quiet, somber morning. Happy New Year!Jefferson Memorial, December 31, 2021
Topaz Studio 2 is useful photo editing software. However, the Topaz Studio 2 Photoshop plugin will not run natively on an M1 Mac. It took me a while to figure this out. I hope Topaz will update the app.
The current Studio 2 plugin is NOT M1 native. You will need to run Photoshop in Rosetta to use this plugin with M1 native Photoshop. The plugin will not appear until you do so even if it has been installed correctly. You can automatically run Photoshop through Rosetta by going to the “Get Info” section when ctrl + clicking on the Photoshop icon in Applications and selecting the “Run With Rosetta” checkbox.
But I don’t want to run Photoshop with Rosetta. That’s a large part of the reason I bought an M1 Mac.
